Remembering April Harper

April Harper photo

April Harper

Staff and Board Members of Disability Wales were very sad to hear that April had passed away on the 3rd of January.

April was a much-valued member of Disability Wales who served on our Board of Directors from 2010 – 2012, holding the role of Vice-Chair during this time. She was a lively contributor at Board meetings and very supportive of staff. April stepped down to concentrate on setting up her taxi business but remained actively involved in many of our projects and campaigns including the Story at 40 and Embolden.

April was a tireless champion and advocate of the rights and equality of all disabled people. She was never afraid to challenge injustice and approached everything with energy and passion. She will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with her friends and family and especially her four beautiful children who have lost a wonderful Mum.
