It’s here…Official Launch of CDCC

Hi everyone,

Apologies for the late edition of the CDCC Blog- it’s certainly been a busy few months. But the big day is finally here: we’re officially launching the CDCC project this Wednesday (25th March)!

Since my last blog entry, I’ve been travelling across Wales and I’ve had the pleasure of meeting lots of inspiring and passionate people! I’ve certainly clocked up the miles chatting to individuals, disabled people’s organisations, charities, local and national politicians and local authorities.

I’ve been overwhelmed with the interest and support that there’s been in CDCC – so thank you to all of you who have enquired about the project or shared information with others. A particular thank you to All Wales People First who invited me to speak at their Annual Conference in Prestatyn in February. I was given a warm welcome- and some rather excellent home-made cookies!

However, back to this week: the official launch is on Wednesday (25thMarch) and we’re really excited to have the opportunity to get our message out about why we’ve developed the project. Thank you to everyone who’s signed up to attend- we really appreciate your support and we hope you enjoy it!

We’re delighted to welcome the following guest speakers:

  •  Dr Adolf Ratzka (who founded Europe’s first direct payment co-operative in Sweden)
  • Aled Roberts AM (who is sponsoring the launch)
  • Professor Mark Drakeford AM, Minister for Health and Social Care
  • Big Lottery (who are funding the project)

I will share an update with you all to let you know how the event goes- including photos and videos!

See you soon.

Becky
