Looking for an internship?

Interns Abi and Claudio with Disability Wales staff

Information for disabled students and university support staff

The research carried out by DRILL funded project, Legally Disabled, indicates that disabled people are disadvantaged in the labour market by employer assumptions, inaccessible workplaces and a lack of employer understanding. This can exclude disabled people from achieving their goals and entering the working world.

Our aim at Disability Wales is to address this imbalance by improving the employment landscape for disabled people. By supporting individuals at the start of their career journey, we hope to create sustainable change.

Apply for a GO Wales Placement

In collaboration with GO Wales we provide unpaid internships for eligible students in Wales. Expenses are available.

In the past two years we have hosted a range of placements including:

  • Video making
  • Welsh translation
  • Marketing
  • Illustration and design
  • Blog writing
  • Data analysis

Open University intern, Elin, has blogged about her ‘virtual internship’ with Disability Wales in 2019: http://www.open.ac.uk/about/santander-universities/disability_wales

More information about internships can be found in our pamphlet:
