“An enabling society in which disabled children and adults enjoy the right to independent living and social inclusion”

Save the date!

Disability Wales and our partners at Wales Co-operative Centre and Dewis Centre for Independent Living are delighted to announce that the ‘Enabling Wales’ project will be officially launched by Lesley Griffiths AM, Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty, on Thursday 25th September 2014.

‘Enabling Wales’ is an exciting new project, funded for 3 years by the Welsh Government Equalities and Inclusion Grant, and delivered in partnership by Disability Wales, Wales Co-operative Centre and Dewis CIL.

The project will directly support the delivery and implementation of the Welsh Government’s ‘Framework for Action on Independent Living’ (2013). It will facilitate the creation of an enabling society for disabled people in Wales, focusing on the development of two new Centres for Independent Living and engaging and empowering young disabled people.

The launch will be held between 12pm and 2pm on Thursday 25th September at Dewis Centre for Independent Living.

If you would like more information about the project or are interested in attending, please contact Rhiannon Hicks on 029 2088 7325 or email rhiannon.hicks@disabilitywales.org
