Mae Aimee yn Awtistig, yn anabl ac yn defnyddio cadair olwyn. Mae hi’n ymroddedig iawn i gyfiawnder cymdeithasol ac ar hyn o bryd mae’n gweithio fel Uwch Ddarlithydd a Chymrawd Datblygu Gyrfa Ymddiriedolaeth Wellcome yn Ysgol Iechyd a Gofal Cymdeithasol Prifysgol Abertawe. Yn y rôl hon, mae’n gweithio ar y cyd â phobl Awtistig i ddeall iechyd atgenhedlol “o’r mislif i’r menopos”, gyda’r nod o wella hygyrchedd gofal iechyd.

Bu Aimee yn gweithio fel gweithiwr cymorth gofal i bobl Awtistig a nyrs gynorthwyol cyn astudio ar gyfer ei gradd fel myfyriwr aeddfed. Mae ganddi PhD mewn polisi cymdeithasol (Prifysgol Caerdydd, 2011), a oedd yn canolbwyntio ar realiti bywyd diwygio lles i bobl anabl pan ddisodlodd Lwfans Cyflogaeth a Chymorth y Budd-dal Analluogrwydd.

Mae Aimee hefyd wedi ymchwilio i feichiogrwydd ymylol a mamolaeth gynnar dros y ddegawd diwethaf, gan gynnwys y rhai sy’n byw mewn tlodi, lleoliadau gwarth a menywod anabl. Mae hi’n awdur dau destun Dadansoddi Dogfennol (Routledge, 2019; Policy Press, 2022), ac ar hyn o bryd mae’n ysgrifennu ‘The Autism Friendly Guide to Pregnancy (and the fourth trimester)’ ar gyfer Jessica Kingsley Publishers.

Aimee yw cadeirydd y Rhwydwaith Cefnogi Menywod Awtistig mewn Academia, cyd-gadeirydd y Rhwydwaith Ymchwil Iechyd Awtistiaeth ac arweinydd ymchwil y Grŵp Ymchwil Mamolaeth ac Awtistiaeth.
